SB311, the Ohio Core legislation, passed in late December, 2007. The Ohio Core increases rigor in the high school curriculum.  One of the bill provisions required the State Board of Education to put together a plan by March 31, 2009 to allow high school students to show course competency without having to fulfill the Carnegie Unit seat time requirement.  The plan is now available for review and a survey is up on the ODE website for parents, educators, and others to comment on the plan.  Please take a few minutes to view the plan and take the survey, which can be accessed here.    A link to the full bill is provided below.
