OAGC Coordinator Virtual Winter Workshop 

The OAGC Coordinator Division Virtual Winter Workshop wil be hold on December 4, 2020. The focus is on the gifted coordination challenges due to the ever-changing educational setting issues this school year. In addition, the workshop will focus on equity issues in gifted education that we face in Ohio. To register for this workshop, please go to

OAGC Virtual Spring Teacher Academy 

The OAGC Spring Academy will be held on February 22-23, 2021. OAGC is accepting proposals for recorded sessions until December 14. You may request more time to submit a proposal. Download the call for proposal at


HB305 Lameduck Activity/State Board of Education News 

The Ohio House and Senate will hold hearings on HB305, the so-called Cupp-Patterson school funding bill, starting this week. There is a very ambitious schedule set out for the these hearings in the lame duck session. 

The Ohio State Board of Education will see several new board members in January as result of elections and appointment changes.

OAGC Review Articles Needed 

OAGC is looking for a few good articles for the Winter Review.  To ask for an extension, or to submit articles, please email by November 15th. Please note that the Spring Review is still available in the member area of the website as a PDF. We were unable to print the Spring Review due to COVID-19 restrictions. The Fall Review should be in mail boxes in the next few weeks.

Gifted HQPD -- High Quality Professional Development

As the 2018 revised gifted operating standards are now in effect, OAGC has been working hard to assist districts in implementing the new classroom teacher gifted HQPD requirement. We have an incredible amount of new tools and information to assist gifted professionals and districts. Also, we continue to develop Ohio-specific professional development through our partnership with GTIGNITE.   For more information about these courses along with all the incredible new tools and documents that will help you plan, provide, and track gifted HQPD, please go to .
