Coordinator Winter Workshop 

The Coordinator Winter Workshop will be held on December 1 at the Quest Center at Polaris in Columbus, Ohio. For more information, please go to www.oagc.com/coordinatorworkshop.asp . The early deadline to register is November 17, 2017. 

Spring Teacher Academy 

OAGC is following up the highly successful OAGC fall conference with great plans for the OAGC Spring Teacher Academy. If you would like to part of this academy, which will be held at the Doubletree Worthington on February 26th and 27th, 2018, please consider submitting a proposal. To downloade the call for proposal or to register for the academy, please go to www.oagc.com/teacheracademy.asp . The deadline for proposals is December 15, 2017.

The big news in advocacy is SB216, the so-called education deregulation bill which would eliminate, among other things, the requirement for classroom teachers serving gifted students to have relevant gifted training. OAGC is pleased to announce a new arts-based student scholarship, the Susan Faulkner Arts Scholarship. For more information, please go to oagc.com/scholarship.asp. The deadline to submit applications is November 15th, 2017. 

Gifted HQPD -- High Quality Professional Development

As the gifted operating standards are now in effect, OAGC has been working hard to assist districts in implementing the new classroom teacher gifted HQPD requirement. As part of our on-going effort to ensure that Ohio's classroom teachers receive Ohio specific and relevant professional development, OAGC is proud to announce our new partnership with GTIGNITE.  For more information on this partnership along with with several tools and documents that will help you plan, provide, and track gifted HQPD, please go to oagc.com/hqpd.asp . 

OAGC Review Articles Needed

OAGC is looking for a few good articles for the Winter Review. To ask for an extension, or to submit articles, please email anngift@aol.com  by November 15th. The theme is social emotional issues especially regarding suicide and gifted students.
