OAGC Back-to-School News Flash -- Fall Conference, Arts Scholarship, and More

Professional Development

Fall Conference 

The annual OAGC fall conference begins in less than five weeks! The conference will be held from October 15 - 17, 201 at the Hilton Easton in Columbus, Ohio. Our keynoters will be Dr. James Webb and Ian Byrd. Along with these amazing keynoters, we will have many excellent featured speakers and small sessions. To register, please go to Please note that the early registration rate expires on October 1, 2017. We expect a full conference, so please do not wait to register. Information on keynoters, small sessions, parent day, awards, Sunday functions, vendors, graduate credit and more are all posted at the above link.




After a break in August, the State Board of Education will meet next Monday and Tuesday. In addition, many of the General Assembly commitees are starting up again. As things begin to heat up, OAGC will resume publication of our Advocacy Updates/Alerts at . Gifted HQPD -- High Quality Professional Development

As the gifted operating standards are now in effect, OAGC has been working hard to assist districts in implementing the new classroom teacher gifted HQPD requirement. As part of our on-going effort to ensure that Ohio's classroom teachers receive Ohio specific and relevant professional development, OAGC is proud to announce our new partneship with GTIGNITE.  For more information on this partnership along with with several tools and documents that will help you plan, provide, and track gifted HQPD, please go to . OAGC Review Articles Needed

OAGC is looking for a few good articles for the Winter Review. To ask for an extension, or to submit articles, please email  by November 15th. The theme is social emotional issues.
