OAGC Teacher Academy 

The Teacher Academy will be held on February 25th and 26th, 2019 and will feature Lisa Van Gemert. The deadline for early registration is Monday, February 11. For the latest agenda and session information or to download a registration form, please go to www.oagc.com/teacheracademy.asp .

Fall Conference Call for Proposal 

The OAGC Fall conference committee will be accepting proposals now until April 1, 2019. To download a proposal form, please go to www.oagc.com/fallconference.asp.

New OAGC Resources Available

OAGC has added several new documents to the OAGC website. The newly released white paper on gifted diversity is available at http://www.oagc.com/advocacyUpdates.asp under the "OAGC Positions and Research" topic heading. In addition, readers can find the the latest State of the State of Gifted Education in Ohio under the same topic heading. New documents outling gifted rankings by typolology as well as gifted spending vs. state allocations by typology can be found at the above link under the heading "Gifted Performance Indicator and Other Report Card Documents." 

Ohio General Assembly News 

The Ohio House and Senate have elected new leaders. Stay tuned as the commitees are announced soon. The State of the State has been announced for March 5th. Governor DeWine's budget priorities should be highlighted in this speech. OAGC will add information about these commitees as they become available. If you have ideas to include in OAGC's legislative platform for the 133rd General Assembly, please send them to anngift@aol.com. Gifted Rule and Professional Development Guidance

OAGC has updated the list of Ohio-developed GTIGNITE courses at www.oagc.com/hqpg.asp. ODE released updated guidance on the gifted rule including the professional development along with additional guidance on gifted professional development.  To review the ODE guidance on the rule, please go to www.oagc.com/rulelaw.asp. To review ODE documents on gifted PD, please go to www.oagc.com/hqpd.asp. The ODE documents are under the "General HQPD Documents" subject heading.

OAGC is looking for a few good articles for the Winter Review. To ask for an extension, or to submit articles, please email anngift@aol.com  by February 15th. 

Gifted HQPD -- High Quality Professional Development

As the 2018 revised gifted operating standards are now in effect, OAGC has been working hard to assist districts in implementing the new classroom teacher gifted HQPD requirement. We have an incredible amount of new tools and information to assist gifted professionals and districts.
